While he didn\u2019t sign it, he also didn\u2019t veto it, proving that party affiliation isn\u2019t always the best way to tell who is your political friend or not.<\/p>\n<p>NRA-ILA reports:<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-paragraph-padding-2\">\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/legislature.vermont.gov\/bill\/status\/2024\/S.209\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S. 209<\/a>\u00a0implements failed California-style policies that require serialization of firearms and firearm parts. The ambiguous term \u201cghost gun\u201d is an invention of anti-gun advocates to restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens. First and foremost, a prohibited individual is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm regardless of how the firearm is assembled. This law will require law-abiding gun owners to contact government agencies and obtain serial numbers whenever they purchase critical parts for their firearms. This will only impact law-abiding citizens\u00a0because criminals will ignore this law.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>S. 209 also bans the carrying of firearms at any voting location, creating hundreds of dangerous \u201cgun-free zones\u201d on Election Day and during \u201cearly voting\u201d at town offices throughout the state.
