Trump said<\/a>. \u201cIn 2016 we got that endorsement and \u2026 we\u2019ve got it again, and we\u2019ve lived up to everything I\u2019ve said. We\u2019re under siege, but they didn\u2019t move us an inch. We have to stand strong.\u201d<\/p>\nConcerning the upcoming election against Joe Biden, who has made lawful gun owners the enemy during his presidency, Trump promised an overwhelming victory.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe NRA has stood with me from the very beginning, and with your vote I will stand strong for your rights and liberties,\u201d he said. \u201cIn four more years in the White House we\u2019re going to do things like nobody can believe to turn our country around. We\u2019re going to, quite simply, make America great again! We\u2019re going to win this election at levels that nobody\u2019s ever seen before.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, Trump said winning the election will require all gun owners, like those in the NRA meeting audience, to get out and cast their vote for freedom.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne thing I\u2019ll say, and I\u2019ll say it as a friend, is we\u2019ve got to get gun owners to vote,\u201d Trump said. \u201cIf gun owners would vote, we would swamp them at levels that nobody has ever seen before. I know you\u2019re a rebellious bunch. Let\u2019s be rebellious and vote this time. If gun owners vote, there\u2019s nobody that can beat us\u2014nobody.\u201d<\/p>\n
About Biden, Trumps said the current president will say anything to get elected, like telling truckers he used to drive a truck or pilots he used to fly planes.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was going to say that he\u2019s full of bullshit, but I don\u2019t want to use bad language because there are a lot of young (people in here),\u201d Trump, an avid golfer, joked. \u201cSo, I don\u2019t want to do that!<\/p>\n
\u201cBiden\u2019s biggest lie of all is saying he\u2019s a 6.2 handicap golfer. This guy couldn\u2019t break 200.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trump also said Biden is doing everything he can to keep from making public appearances and to avoid speaking live.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe actually challenged me last week so I think we\u2019re going to debate,\u201d Trump said. \u201cHe can\u2019t walk from that step to this podium. He can\u2019t put two sentences together. Even his challenge for the debate took him seven shots. They have seven different clips.\u201d<\/p>\n
Unlike Biden, who when talking about the Second Amendment often rambles on about deer and kevlar vests, Trump has a better understanding of the right to keep and bear arms.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need the Second Amendment for safety,\u201d he said. \u201cForget about going hunting and all the things you do\u2014we need it for safety. Because you know the bad guys are not giving up their guns. The bad ones are not giving up their guns.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trump also spoke about independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and warned NRA members that he\u2019s no friend of theirs.<\/p>\n
\u201cRFK Jr. is radical left,\u201d Trump said. \u201cDon\u2019t think about it. Don\u2019t waste your vote.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need a conservative person with common sense, and this guy is radical left. He calls you a \u2018terrorist group.\u2019 You can\u2019t vote for him. He\u2019s got no policy on anything. He calls you a \u2018terrorist group,\u2019 and I call you \u2018the backbone of America.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Turning back to Biden, Trump said if the current president were to win in November, things would get worse, not better.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can\u2019t take a chance on Joe Biden winning,\u201d Trump said. \u201cHe\u2019s the worst president in the history of our country by far.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnder crooked Joe Biden, everything you stand for is under threat like never before. Our Second Amendment, which is largely why you\u2019re here, is under siege. Our Constitution is being run through the shredder, our borders have been obliterated and inflation continues to rage. Our country is going to hell. Gangs and ruthless criminals are terrorizing our streets. And crooked Joe Biden has us teetering on the edge of World War III.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the end, Trump said NRA members can be the difference on who wins and who loses this fall\u2019s election.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor more than 150 years the NRA has been defined by men and women like all of you\u2014loyal, hard-working citizens who believe in defending your families, your communities and your country,\u201d Trump said. \u201cIt\u2019s time for a president who will replace weakness with strength, turn poverty to prosperity and vanquish Joe Biden\u2019s corrupt tyranny with a great restoration of American freedom. We have to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n
