Well, you embarrass not only your commanding officer but the entire US Navy. Imagine all of the US Navy personnel reading this post about a ship commander who doesn\u2019t even recognize when his scope is installed backwards? That doesn\u2019t bode well for his competency in other areas.<\/p>\n<p><em>Zero Hedge<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/military\/were-going-lose-major-war-us-navy-deletes-photo-ship-commander-shooting-rifle-backwards\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has the story<\/a>\u00a0of the US ship \u201ccaptain\u201d who doesn\u2019t even know when he\u2019s portrayed as a fool.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Cmdr. Cameron Yaste, the Commanding Officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56), was recently photographed shooting a 5.56\u00d745mm M4 carbine with the optics installed backward.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>The now-deleted image and press release on the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service website featured Yaste shooting the M4 with the Trijicon VCOG scope installed backward while pointed at a giant target balloon.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Here\u2019s what the press release said before it was deleted:<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Cmdr. Cameron Yaste, the Commanding Officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56), fires at the \u201ckiller tomato\u201d during a gun shoot. The ship is in US 7th Fleet conducting routine operations. 7th Fleet is the US Navy\u2019s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with Allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific Region.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Top men indeed. Why didn\u2019t Commander Yaste raise his hand and say, \u201cWhoa Nelly.
