After all, U.S. federal courts are turning over sovereignty to the Mexican head of state at the same time he\u2019s issuing ultimatums to the United States and thumbing his nose at Texas.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Judge Rosemary Marquez, of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/news\/world\/articles\/2024-03-25\/mexicos-lawsuit-against-arizona-gun-dealers-can-proceed-us-judge-rules\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ruled<\/a><\/strong> that a lawsuit brought by the Mexican government against five Arizona-based firearm retailers can proceed. Mexico claims these firearm retailers are facilitating illegal firearm trafficking to Mexico. There\u2019s no evidence of this. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) would have shut these businesses down if there was. Of course, gun control groups backing Mexico\u2019s claims are crowing over the development.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s on top of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/us-appeals-court-revives-mexicos-10-billion-lawsuit-against-gun-makers-2024-01-22\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>$10 billion lawsuit<\/strong><\/a> Mexico is also bringing, with the backing of U.S. gun control groups, against U.S. firearm manufacturers. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit revived that case in January after a lower court dismissed the claims.<\/p>\n<p>The irony is Mexican President L\u00f3pez Obrador is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/mexican-president-demands-20-billion-work-permits-10-million-hispanics-exchange-immigration-help\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>issuing a list of demands<\/strong><\/a> to the United States and telling a U.S. court in the State of Texas law to fight illegal immigration would impinge on Mexico\u2019s <strong>\u201c<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/mexico-tells-court-texas-immigration-law-is-threat-its-sovereign-rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>sovereign right<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u201d<\/strong> to decide who enters the country.<\/p>\n<h3>Mexican Shakedown<\/h3>\n<p>The irony is rich, if not absurd. Mexico is running roughshod on America\u2019s sovereignty in American courts because it refuses to enforce its own gun control laws on their side of the border. At the same time, President L\u00f3pez Obrador is shaking down not just U.S. firearm manufacturers for $10 billion, he\u2019s demanding $20 billion in what can only be described as \u201cpatronage fees\u201d to Latin American countries. He also wants work visas for 10 million illegal immigrants, an end to U.S. sanctions in Venezuela and a halt to the blockade of Cuba.<\/p>\n<p>The arrogance is astounding but it is being backed by weak U.S. responses and kowtowing by U.S. courts to Mexico. President L\u00f3pez Obrador is a head-of-state only because he\u2019s working hand-in-glove with the narco-terrorist drug cartels that are the scourge of Mexico. He refuses to confront those cartels, which are facilitating illegal firearm trafficking. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency uncovered <strong>\u201c<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/articles\/biden-admin-open-border-funding-illegal-firearm-trafficking-that-mexico-is-suing-over\/?hilite=mexico\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>substantial evidence<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u201d<\/strong> that drug cartels funneled $2 million to his campaign and that it was impossible to divorce government officials from criminal cartels.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/mexican-drug-cartel-american-weapons-project-thor-whistleblower-chuck-grassley\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">demanding answers<\/a><\/strong> from 16 federal law enforcement agencies over a secretive Project Thor, that was designed to disrupt those known networks. It was working, until the ATF pulled the plug \u2013 at the same time Mexico brought their claims against U.S. firearm manufacturers.<\/p>\n<h3>Weakness Invites Arrogance<\/h3>\n<p>The Biden administration\u2019s response to this shakedown was anemic. Fox News <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/mexican-president-demands-20-billion-work-permits-10-million-hispanics-exchange-immigration-help\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a><\/strong> a Biden administration official said President L\u00f3pez Obrador \u201chas a very ambitious agenda.\u201d That official added that Congress would need to act to acquiesce. The response should have been an outright rejection.<\/p>\n<p>President L\u00f3pez Obrador was equally flippant to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott\u2019s law to force illegal immigrants to return to Mexico or face criminal charges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Texas governor acts that way because he wants to be the Republican vice presidential candidate and wants to win popularity with these measures,\u201d said President L\u00f3pez Obrador, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/mexican-president-demands-20-billion-work-permits-10-million-hispanics-exchange-immigration-help\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>according to Fox News<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> \u201cHe\u2019s not going to win anything. On the contrary, he is going to lose support because there are a lot of Mexicans in Texas, a lot of migrants.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Mexican president\u2019s arrogance is being placated by the Biden administration. President Joe Biden\u2019s administration is using a <strong>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/articles\/president-bidens-war-on-firearm-industry-reaches-new-peak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">whole-of-<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/articles\/president-bidens-war-on-firearm-industry-reaches-new-peak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">government<\/a>\u201d<\/strong>approach to attack the firearm industry and Second Amendment rights. His ATF has been issuing rules that carry criminal punishments, even though that\u2019s the responsibility of Congress. His Commerce Department\u2019s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) \u201cpaused\u201d firearm exports for 90 days but that pause continues well past 150 days with no end in sight. He installed gun control lobbyists in The White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention that <a href=\"https:\/\/bearingarms.com\/camedwards\/2024\/03\/20\/nssf-calls-on-congress-to-investigate-conspiracy-behind-chicagos-lawsuit-against-glock-n1224261\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>appear to be colluding<\/strong><\/a> with Chicago to bring frivolous lawsuits against Glock.<\/p>\n<h3>Placating Cartels<\/h3>\n<p>All the while, there is no answer from the Biden administration why it stopped efforts to disrupt Mexican drug cartels illegally funneling guns south of the border. No answer has been offered for why this administration refuses to close the U.S-Mexico border when it is known that firearms are being illegally trafficked, human smuggling is becoming a multi-billion dollar narco-terrorist funding source, illicit drugs are flowing into the United States and U.S. law enforcement and intelligence agencies are telling Congress and the Biden administration that there are <strong>\u201c<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/12\/05\/politics\/fbi-director-senate-hearing\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>blinking lights everywhere<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u201d<\/strong> warning that the United States is exposing itself to terror attacks. Just this week, the U.S. Border Patrol chief <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/03\/24\/us-news\/border-patrol-chief-admits-national-security-threat-as-terrorists-may-be-among-migrants-illegally-crossing-border\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">warned<\/a><\/strong> terrorists may be crossing the border, after the U.S. saw the reach of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/isis-using-deadly-moscow-attack-recruit-new-terrorists-us-monitoring-very-closely\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>ISIS-K attacks in Moscow<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>President L\u00f3pez Obrador is scoffing at the United States. He is twisting U.S. law, trampling U.S. sovereignty and claiming the United States can\u2019t enforce their own laws because it would offend Mexico.
