That\u2019s Chicago. Otherwise known as Chiraq, or Mogadishu on Lake Michigan. This past weekend, Lori Lightfoot\u2019s domain <a href=\"https:\/\/heyjackass.com\/\">blew past the 500th homicide total<\/a> for the year and stands at 504.<\/p>\n<p>What used to happen in most cities when they experienced historical levels of homicides? Police worked to investigate, arrest, and prosecute the criminals who commit the majority of violent crimes.<\/p>\n<p>But not on Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot\u2019s watch. Or that of the Soros-funded Cook County State\u2019s Attorney Kim Foxx. Or the corrupt party machine that has run Chicagoland for generations.\u00a0 Instead of arresting criminals and jailing them in an effort to make the city\u2019s streets safer, they have <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/democratic-mayors-called-defund-police-180600507.html\">defunded police<\/a> (while Lightfoot maintains a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthaboutguns.com\/while-chicagoans-live-with-fewer-cops-more-crime-mayor-lightfoot-has-a-90-person-security-detail\/\">90-officer strong protective detail<\/a>) and made cops\u2019 jobs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.injusticewatch.org\/news\/2021\/illinois-criminal-justice-reform-cash-bail-felony-murder\/\">tougher<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>How bad is it? Generations of strict gun control laws, only recently relaxed with Illinois\u2019 Concealed Carry Act, have kept firearm ownership by good people to a minimum. It was only <a href=\"https:\/\/heyjackass.com\/\">13.52% as of Sept. 1st<\/a> to be more precise. Last year, dispatchers didn\u2019t have enough cops to answer <a href=\"https:\/\/wirepoints.org\/new-2021-chicago-data-shows-400000-high-priority-incidents-where-dispatchers-had-no-police-available-to-send-wirepoints\/\">over half of the highest priority 9-1-1 calls<\/a>, including over 1350 shooting victims, 887 stabbing victims and 14000 and change violent domestic calls.<\/p>\n<p>And they wonder why they\u2019ve got a crime problem in Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>In even worse news, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kmov.com\/2022\/09\/08\/illinois-set-eliminate-cash-bail-2023\/\">Illinois\u2019 No Cash Bail law kicks in on January 1st.<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I know a certain PMC that will be offering Purge style deluxe tours through Chiraq <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/iLC1M000K1\">pic.twitter.com\/iLC1M000K1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Louis vil LeGun \u1555( \u141b )\u1557 (@LouisvilleGun) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LouisvilleGun\/status\/1568273600003674113?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 9, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At that point, unless there\u2019s a specific threat made against a specific person, the accused <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rrstar.com\/story\/opinion\/columns\/2022\/09\/09\/states-attorney-illinois-safe-t-act-poses-serious-threat-to-public\/67438927007\/\">must be released without posting a penny for bail<\/a>.\u00a0 These include crimes like Second Degree Murder, drug-induced homicide, arson, aggravated battery, kidnapping, burglary, robbery, aggravated DUI, drug offenses and theft, just to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, some have noted that police may hold a suspect on a domestic violence arrest if they threaten their domestic partner.\u00a0 On the other hand, if they kill their partner, they\u2019re no longer a threat to a specific (living) person and as such, they should be released under the new No Cash Bail law.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll be covering this more in the coming months. In the meantime, know that Chicago simply isn\u2019t safe.
