(Michael Bell\/The Canadian Press via AP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-next-post-navi\">\n<p>\nNext Post Coming Soon&#8230;\u25b6\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>After a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthaboutguns.com\/shooter-who-disguised-himself-as-a-cop-dead-after-killing-at-least-10-in-nova-scotia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mass shooting in Nova Scotia<\/a> in 2020 carried out by a man who impersonated a police officer, Canada\u2019s Prime Minister Justin <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/09\/20\/new-trudeau-blackface-photo-lands-on-eve-of-canada-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cZoolander\u201d<\/a> Trudeau used the killings <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthaboutguns.com\/oh-canada-your-prime-minister-is-coming-for-your-guns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">as a pretext<\/a> to decree an end to the sale and use of \u201cassault-style\u201d firearms in the Great White North.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, two men carried out what police believe was a drug-related mass stabbing attack in Regina, Saskatchewan that killed 10 and wounded 15 more. The weapons used to kill and wound a couple of dozen Canucks will surely be noted in Ottawa. Expect the Prime Minister to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/world\/2018\/04\/09\/london-mayor-knife-control\/500328002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emulate the homeland<\/a> of the commonwealth and announce an emergency order outlawing assault knives in the days and weeks to come.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the latest from the Associated Press . . .<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Canadian police searched on Monday for two men suspected of stabbing 10 people to death in an indigenous community and a nearby town, as the massive manhunt following one of the nation\u2019s deadliest mass killings entered its second day.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Authorities have said some of the victims were targeted and others appeared to have been chosen at random in a series of attacks on the James Smith Cree Nation and in the town of Weldon in Saskatchewan province. They have given no motive for the crimes, which also left 15 people wounded \u2014 but a senior indigenous leader suggested drugs were somehow involved.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Police believe the suspects were last spotted around midday on Sunday in the provincial capital of Regina, about 335 kilometers (210 miles) south of where the stabbings happened. Authorities have issued warnings for Manitoba and Alberta \u2014 provinces on either side of Saskatchewan \u2014 to also be on alert, and U.S. border officials have been contacted.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>With the suspects at large, terror gripped communities in the rural, working class area of Saskatchewan surrounded by farmland but not far from the forests of the north. They\u2019re going to be terrified to open their door,\u201d said Weldon resident Ruby Works, who was close to one of the victims.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>The suspects were identified as Damien Sanderson, 31, and Myles Sanderson, 30, but police gave few details about them. Last May, Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers issued a wanted list that included Myles Sanderson, writing that he was \u201cunlawfully at large.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>The attack was among the deadliest mass killings in Canada, where such crimes are less common than in the United States. The deadliest gun rampage in Canadian history happened in 2020, when a man disguised as a police officer shot people in their homes and set fires across the province of Nova Scotia, killing 22 people. In 2019, a man used a van to kill 10 pedestrians in Toronto.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>\u201cIt is horrific what has occurred in our province,\u201d said Rhonda Blackmore, assistant commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Saskatchewan.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Police got their first call about a stabbing at 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, and within minutes heard about several more. In all, dead or wounded people were found at 13 different locations on the sparsely populated reserve and in the town, Blackmore said. James Smith Cree Nation is about 30 kilometers (20 miles) from Weldon.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>She couldn\u2019t provide a motive, but the chief of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations suggested the stabbings could be drug-related.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>\u201cThis is the destruction we face when harmful illegal drugs invade our communities, and we demand all authorities to take direction from the chiefs and councils and their membership to create safer and healthier communities for our people,\u201d said Chief Bobby Cameron.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>As the manhunt stretched on while Canadians observed the Labor Day holiday, Regina Police Chief Evan Bray urged anyone with information to come forward.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>\u201cThey have not been located, so efforts continue,\u201d Bray said in a video posted on Twitter on Monday morning. \u201cWe will not stop until we have those two safely in custody.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>The night before, he said police believed the suspects were still in Regina but didn\u2019t say why.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>The elected leaders of the three communities that make up the James Smith Cree Nation declared a local state of emergency.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>At the James Smith Cree Nation, a convenience store that also serves as a gas station became a gathering place for community members who greeted each other with tears and hugs.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>A sign on the door said: \u201cDue to safety concerns with our community we will remain closed until further notice.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a statement he was \u201cshocked and devastated by the horrific attacks.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>\u201cAs Canadians, we mourn with everyone affected by this tragic violence, and with the people of Saskatchewan,\u201d Trudeau said.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-next-post-navi\">\n<p>\nNext Post Coming Soon&#8230;\u25b6\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthaboutguns.com\/two-attackers-still-at-large-after-saskatchewan-mass-stabbing-that-killed-10-wounded-15\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore speaks next to images of Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson during a press conference at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police &#8220;F&#8221; Division headquarters in Regina, Saskatchewan, on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022.
